Segundas Oportunidades · Presented at Experimental Photo Festival Barcelona, 24 July 2021.
“Segundas Oportunidades” (Second Chances) is about exactly that. It uses photographs I took over the years that now get a new chance: some of them change their look completely and become elements with a certain movement.

Recuerdos sonoros (2021)
Vivimos en un mundo
dónde la imagen lo es todo.
Adictos a las redes sociales.¡Junkies del like!
Dicen que una imagen,
vale más que mil palabras,
pero un sonido
evoca mil imágenes.Las Imágenes ilustran recuerdos,
los sonidos los crean.Recuerdos Sonoros by Javier Rey

Silencio cotidiano (2020)
Atrapados por la rutina,
perdidos en algún punto
de nuestra mirada,
aquella que mira pero no ve,
acompañada por quien oye
pero no escucha.
Enredados en un ambiente de ruido
enmascarado y cotidiano.
Interferencias,
ruidos inaudibles,
ritmos asíncronos.
Invisibles mensajes
y sordas palabras.Silencio Cotidiano by Javier Rey for Morada Sónica 2020

This is the unreleased version of my Twitch show Dentro del Círculo, dedicated to the label “Trust Collective”.
In May 2021 I recorded two different versions of this show. The one finally chosen to be broadcast on my DDC show on the Audiotalaia Twitch channel was the composition with “A Page of Madness”, and this version with “The Phantom of the Opera” was never streamed.

Un predicador y el extraño compañero de habitación · Extended Version
A short story told through a series of manipulated and reinterpreted sounds. They colour the vision of an unsettling character who, from the street, intrudes on the privacy of a hotel room: impassive, with a lost yet piercing gaze that crosses the window again and again. Until, suddenly and out of time, a strange sound pushes him aside and ends up revealing his true nature, after a new sound manifesto that places him right above our heads.
A peculiar story full of strange sounds and characters, led by a peculiar narrator who preaches without pause a distant message that nobody hears or receives, but that connects perfectly with this surreal story.
